The Permanent Representative of Jamaica at the United Nations: Efficiency and cooperation are the keys words of our discussions

His Excellency Ambassador Stafford Neil, Permanent Representative of Jamaica to the United Nations, and chairman of the Group of 77 and China has made a welcome speech at the opening of Senior officials meeting, preparatory for the Second South Summit in Doha.

Speaking after His Excellency Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser, Permanent Representative of Qatar at the United Nations, M.Neil expressed his thanks to the State of Qatar, for their hospitality and praised the preparations for the Second South Summit. .

His Excellency the Ambassador of Jamaica invited the participants to proceed with the efforts which started more than three months ago, in order to archive the set targets, and to fulfill their tasks of submitting their conclusions to the Foreign Affairs meeting. .

Efficiency and cooperation are the keys words of our work, he added. .

M.Neil said he trusts the Experts and Senior Officials capacities to carry out their tasks and reach a broad unanimity by the end of the day. He affirms that this summit is an excellent opportunity to continue the discussions and exchange of views among the member countries of the G77 and China. .

The Jamaican diplomat underlined that the outcome of this Summit will consolidate the position of the G77 and China in the international arena and that the Summit is particularly important at the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the United Nations.
